1. The Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) Workshop

The Parent Workshops were created by Thomas Gordon with the aim of providing parents with simple and effective tools to better communicate as a family. They empower parents to exercise fair authority.

Gordon Effective Parent Workshops, which are delivered around the world in more than forty countries by certified trainers, are now available in Mauritius.

Communicating as a parent can be learned!

We find it normal to learn to read, swim, drive, cook, speak a foreign language ...

What if we learned ...

• To listen to our children, so that they can express themselves.

• To express ourselves, so that they listen to us.

• To resolve our conflicts without damaging the relationship with our children.

What happens during these workshops?

  •  Practice, through role-playing.

It allows us to deeply integrate theory, defuse our old habits and anchor new behaviors.

  •  The sharing of experience between parents.

This encourages everyone to develop their own creativity, to find solutions specific to their family.

  •  Taking a step back.

The rhythm of a Parent Workshop allows us to take a step back and reflect on our way of communicating as a family, and then choose what we really want to change.

Gordon Training Mauritius will issue a PET certificate to you upon attendance of all sessions.

2. Teacher Effectiveness Training (TET) Workshop

Why a Teachers' Workshop?

Effective and caring communication within the classroom to increase the learning experience.

What you will learn:

  • How to talk to your students so that they really listen to you, thanks to the "I" Message.

  • How to assert oneself and set clear boundaries to develop a fair and healthy authority, without harming the student's self-esteem.

  • How to set rules in the classroom so that the use of punishment is significantly less necessary.

  • How to encourage student participation and creativity without being lax.

  • How to resolve conflicts so that you and your students are satisfied with the solutions through Conflict Resolution Without Anyone Losing.

  • When students express problems to you, how to listen to them so that they really feel heard and understood while encouraging them to take responsibility, thanks to Active listening.

1. On a Path to Sustainability

Why this course?

To make life on Earth and humanity "sustainable". People, both individually and collectively, must adopt behaviors that would benefit themselves, the environment and society.

This course is aimed at groups (families, "peer groups") because it is easier to bring about change when people are together. Changes can have a ripple effect on society as a whole, including at an institutional, business and government levels. Implementing a concrete project together would also strengthen families and groups.

Target audience:

Families or groups of people willing to identify and implement changes leading to a more sustainable lifestyle, for themselves and for the environment.

Course Objectives:

The course is hands-on and will provide participants with problem-solving and project-based methods to identify things they can change in their lives and implement those changes. The once weekly sessions will last 3 months so that participants can concretely start implementing the change process and share their experience.

The sessions will be very interactive, with group activities, games, role plays, songs, etc. Between sessions, participants will be asked to reflect on and implement their change. They will be able to share their questions and experience on a WhatsApp group.

It is important for companies to adopt Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices and set Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) because it is now the norm,. Adhering to this norm is of greater importance as expected by customers and society at large.

At operational level, ESG implementation is facilitated if management encourages employees to participate on how to make routine processes more environment friendly. Whenever management involves employees, the implementation process is more dynamic.

The course will consist in giving participants the tools to understand ESG, get the views of stakeholders on this topic, and to identify ways and implement project to improve it.

Objectives of the course:

  • Understand ESG and SDG's and how they apply to companies.

  • Identify and measure the impact of the company processes and value chains of their departments with respect to ESG and SDG's.

  • Identify ways to improve that impact.

  • Design and implement projects to integrate these improvements in the operations.
